Liverpool have entered the race to sign teenager Bilel Hassaini, per Footmercato.

What’s the word?

The France Under-17 right winger is available on a free transfer after leaving Nancy.

He has been tracked by Arsenal, the report states, and Liverpool have now registered their interest.

Fellow French club Saint-Etienne are also said to be keen on securing the 18-year-old’s signature.

Hassaini has yet to make his senior debut for any club but has won 15 caps for France’s Under-16 team and 11 for the Under-17s.

A clear strategy

Liverpool are employing a very clear strategy in this transfer window.

The club have thus far kept their powder dry when it comes to senior signings but they have acquired young defender Sepp van den Berg, who is set to play with the academy at the start of his Reds career.

A move for Hassaini would be along the same line of thinking, a player who they could develop and help improve.

Of course, he has yet to show what he can do at any kind of level bar the French youth team.

But he could potentially blossom under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, as he continues to seek youthful reinforcements.

And if it doesn’t pan out, the Reds will not have invested a big fee and remain likely to turn a profit.

West Ham Transfer Roundup: £35m bid for PL star, Arnautovic could leave, Hernandez receives offer

[ad_pod ]

Manuel Pellegrini is working hard during this transfer window to perfect his squad for next season having already signed Pablo Fornals from Villareal.

Today’s West Ham transfer roundup includes a rumoured offer for a Premier League striker, the possibility of one of their star men leaving and an update in regards to a 32-year-old forward.

West Ham to bid for Wilson

According to the Sun, West Ham are preparing to launch a £35m bid for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson this summer. The England international is reportedly Pellegrini’s number one target in attack this summer.

Arnautovic could leave

Marko Arnautovic could be returning to Italy this summer, with Inter Milan keen on taking the Austrian to Serie A according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. The report adds that Arnautovic could leave for a fee of €25m (£22.3m).

Hernandez receives an improved offer from Galatasaray

Fanatik claims that Javier Hernandez is demanding €3.5m (£3.1m) a year in wages in order to move to Galatasaray this summer.

The Super Lig side had previously offered €3m (£2.6m) a year to the Mexican, with the former Manchester United striker reportedly holding out for €4m (£3.5m). Hernandez scored seven goals in the Premier League last term but could be on the move.

Tottenham: Dani Ceballos could be the perfect man to cure Eriksen woes

This summer will be massive for a lot of clubs in the footballing world. Across Europe Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all have a lot to do, whilst domestically the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have their work cut out, but Tottenham arguably have the biggest job of them all.

That is mostly down to the fact that it will be the first transfer window since January 2018 that the Lilywhites actually open their wallet. Don’t get this wrong, the lack of spending is all the club’s fault, but a massive window could remedy that, and what a signing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos would be to kick it off.

The rumours of the Spaniard being brought in have surfaced via Spanish outlet AS and it’s hard to argue that he wouldn’t be a great signing for the North London outfit considering how well he’s been playing for Spain in the ongoing U21 European Championships.

Yet according to the story from AS, Zinedine Zidane does not completely trust the midfield man and would sanction an exit for the impressive 22-year-old. It would undoubtedly be a good move for Tottenham too, especially seeing as the £27m rated ace, as per Transfermarkt, could help them fill the Christian Eriksen void should the Dane leave the club.

There have been fears for a while that Eriksen could leave and it came out that before Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat that the Dane even cleared his London house as he was so convinced that he’d be leaving. It may be less clear now, as a Real Madrid move has fallen through, although with Juventus and Manchester United still interested, anything can happen, claims via The Mirror.

It’s really not hard to see why the Spaniard would fit so well too, as his stats speak for themselves. The Spanish ace scored three La Liga goals despite playing 90 minutes just five times in the competition He’s as added to that with two goals and two assists in three group stage games in the U21 international competition, so there really is no doubting he could star for Spurs.

Tottenham fans, would you be happy to see Ceballos sign this summer? Let us know!

Wolves Transfer Roundup: No Alvarez bid, second chance for Traore, set to miss out on striker

[ad_pod ]

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves side took to the Premier League like a duck to water last season following their promotion from the Championship. With a long season ahead and Europa League football to think about, the Portuguese will be busy this summer as he looks to add some depth to his squad. Today’s transfer roundup includes updates on two potential new signings as well an update on a winger already at the club.

No offer for Alvarez

Club America Director of Sport Santiago Banos has said that Wolves are yet to make a concrete offer for Edson Alvarez. Previous reports suggested that Wolves had made contact about signing the 21-year-old, but Banos has stated that, whilst he has had talks with the club’s representatives, the Molineux outfit are yet to make a formal bid.

Reprieve for Traore

Despite interest from Napoli, Santo still has Adama Traore in his plans and wants to keep him with the side for next season according to the Express and Star. The Spaniard was signed from Middlesborough last summer but is yet to earn himself a regular spot in the first XI.

Okereke close to Sassuolo move

Wolves could miss out on David Okereke according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. Okereke, who scored 10 goals and made 12 assists for Serie B side Spezia last season, had been reported as a target for the Midlands club, but it appears that Sassuolo are now close to signing the Nigerian striker.

‘The little genius defies logic’ – Lineker hits nail on the head for Liverpool

[ad_pod ]Liverpool crashed and burned in Catalonia on Wednesday night despite putting in a decent display at the Nou Camp.To say Barcelona’s 3-0 victory flattered the hosts is a resounding understatement, but Jurgen Klopp’s face told the whole story when the third goal went in.The gulf in class between mere humans and the extraterrestrial Lionel Messi was underlined with Barcelona donning a 2-0 lead, as the Argentine stepped up to whip a deliciously placed free-kick into the top corner of Alisson’s goal.In response to the exquisite strike, Gary Lineker hit the nail on the head with his assessment.

If ever there was a time when Liverpool fans could appreciate Lineker’s sentiments, it was immediately in the aftermath of his second and potentially tie-clinching goal.

The last time Messi faced Liverpool was in 2007, when he failed to score or assist in a two-legged tie which the Reds eventually won on away goals.

‘The little genius defies logic’ was a statement which certainly didn’t apply back then but, after years of avoiding the magician on the European stage, the otherworldly lexicon field which he commands across the football media has never been more pertinent to Liverpool fans.

They saw his logic-defying genius in all its glory last night, and it may well prove to be the difference between the two sides across the two legs.

Liverpool fans would love to see Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha at Anfield

[ad_pod ]

Liverpool fans on Twitter have been busy discussing a hypothetical move for Wilfried Zaha, after the question over whether or not the winger would be a good signing was tipped to the fanbase.

The Ivory Coast international has excelled for Crystal Palace over the last few seasons, particularly standing out with his dribbling skills and ability to draw fouls from the opposition.

Mo Salah has been brutally mocked for his recent diving antics in a new video by 442oons. Check it out below…

Zaha, 26, has eight goals and three assists to his name this term, but would be hard to prise away from the Eagles having only recently signed a contract extension.

Liverpool are in need of some depth to their attack, as Divock Origi is the only attacker on the bench who can provide any kind of impact when replacing either Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane.

As a result of this dilemma, the Reds fanbase have been discussing whether or not Zaha would be a good addition.

And plenty of fans touted the merits of a potential deal, labelling him a perfect player and suggesting that he’s exactly what Jurgen Klopp is missing in attack.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans have had to say about Zaha…

Have always been a fan of him and he would be a great addition to our forward line

Alfie Doughty could be the next player to shine under Lee Bowyer at Charlton

[ad_pod ]

Lee Bowyer has established himself as one of the top young managers the EFL has to offer this season, with his Charlton side on an unbelievable run in 2019 and pushing for automatic promotion.

The former midfielder is ready and willing to bring youth players through to the first team if they have earned it and the likes of George Lapslie, who has made 25 league appearances this campaign, have benefited greatly.

With Roland Duchatelet likely to be reluctant to provide Bowyer with much in the way of funding this summer, the Addicks boss may be forced to comb the academy for his next first team star: that could well be Alfie Doughty.

The left-sider was in sensational form for the Addicks Under-23’s on Tuesday as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Burnley and will surely have caught Bowyer’s eye at The Valley.

The 19-year-old opened the scoring after the returning Jake Forster-Caskey pinged a free-kick over to the left, allowing him to get his knee over the ball and unleash a howitzer of a half-volley past Aiden Stone in net for the Clarets, who had absolutely no chance.

How much money could you make busking for a week as a freestyle footballer? Find out in the video below…

Mere moments later, the teenager nearly had his second but fired wide, although his excellent all-round showing would see him get the brace he deserved in the latter stages, with yet another left-footed half-volley.

Clearly he has a knack for scoring special goals; some Charlton fans may remember the 60-yard, first-time strike he score for the Addicks Under-18’s in the FA Youth Cup in December 2017.

The former Kingstonian loanee was heavily involved in his side’s creation on Tuesday and was a constant threat down the left wing with his trickery and vision. Despite being listed as a defender on Charlton’s official website, his two-goal performance in a more advanced position suggests the youngster has a lot more to offer on the front foot.

One thing is for certain, if he can keep registering displays of that calibre, it will only be a matter of time before he makes his first team bow.

Rangers’ Lafferty blasted for awful Northern Ireland display

[ad_pod ]

Northern Ireland secured their second win in as many Euro 2020 qualifying games on Sunday, but Rangers ace Kyle Lafferty had an absolute nightmare.

Josh Magennis scored a later winner for Northern Ireland on Sunday as they made it six points from six in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Jonny Evans had given the hosts an early lead at Windsor Park, and they were by far the better team through most of the match.

Lafferty was one of several who spurned chances though, and Igor Stasevich’s equaliser looked to have robbed a point for the visitors until Magennis’ late goal.

Loads of fans have been running the rule over the game, and they can’t understand how Lafferty gets the nod up front.

Since joining Rangers for the second time, he has managed just seven goals in 35 showings, and barely even gets in the Gers’ team anymore.

The 31 year-old has well and truly flopped in his second spell at Ibrox, and the reactions to his national team performance do not make pretty reading either. Have a read below…

Leeds fans have their say after club decide not to appeal Casilla red card

[ad_pod ]Leeds United fans have voiced their opinion on Twitter following news that goalkeeper Kiko Casilla will miss the match against Millwall, after it was reportedÂthe club will not be appealing his red card. The former Real Madrid stopper was dismissed in Saturday’s feisty encounter versus Sheffield United, after bringing down Billy Sharp in injury time.Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa had suggested the club might lodge an appeal, indicating after the game that he thought a red card was harsh.

But the club have decided to accept the automatic one-match ban, which will almost certainly signal the return of Bailey Peacock-Farrell to the starting XI.

Casilla has been a mainstay in the team since his move from the Bernabeu in January, ahead of the Northern Ireland international who has made 27 Championship appearances this campaign.

Still only 22, Peacock-Farrell has divided the opinion of Leeds fans all season. Some argue he’s not good enough for a side chasing Premier League football, while moments such as his heroic penalty save versus Reading in November have persuaded many that he is up to the job.

After Phil Hay tweeted that the club will not appeal the red card, here’s how fans have reacted…
