Strydom is currently in charge of provincial side North West, one of the teams that feed into the Lions’ franchise, and will take over at Kingsmead from August 1.Strydom succeeds Pete de Wet, who left Durban for Napier last August. The franchise has since been overseen by two acting CEOs, Rajesh Behari, and Muhammad Seedat who will remain in charge until Strydom takes over ahead of the 2017-18 season.At 34, Strydom will be the youngest franchise CEO but he brings with him almost a decade of experience in cricket administration. Apart from his role at North West – a union which regularly plays host to international touring sides for warm-up matches and which will host its first Test since 2002 against Bangladesh this summer – Strydom has also served as general manager of the Lions. His work in creating a venue that is in demand from visiting teams such as Australia, and in building one of the most successful outfits in the country, should serve both Kingsmead and the Dolphins well.The franchise is desperate for silverware after three barren seasons. The Dolphins’ last success was in 2013-14, when they won the T20 competition under coach Lance Klusener. Two ODIs were played at the stadium since then without incident but Kingsmead continues to fight for its status as the Boxing Day venue of choice for Tests.Recent years have seen the festive fixture alternate between Durban and Port Elizabeth and there is no confirmation of where or if it will be played this summer. With India yet to confirm their fixtures for a four-Test tour of South Africa, Kingsmead has to wait to see which of the matches it may host. The next scheduled Test is in March 2018 against Australia but a host of domestic matches, including those in the inaugural South African T20 league, will precede that. Tottenham Hotspur have Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo "high" on their list of targets for the summer, according to journalist Alasdair Gold.
Which defenders are Tottenham signing?
In a recent update on Twitter, Gold confirmed that Adarabioyo is one of Tottenham's key defensive targets for this window, saying:
"Understand Tosin Adarabioyo remains high on Spurs' list of potential central defender moves this summer after some extensive scouting last season."
However, the Fulham defender is not Spurs' only potential target, as detailed by Gold in his report for Football London, with Bundesliga duo Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven also said to be on their list of targets.
The Lilywhites are looking to overhaul their defence ahead of next season, and talks are ongoing over a deal for Tapsoba, who Gold has previously highlighted as the club's "main target".
Van de Ven remains an option if Tottenham are unable to get a move for Tapsoba over the line, with the Dutch centre-back expected to leave Wolfsburg this summer, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.
In the aforementioned Football London report, Gold claims that Adarabioyo ticks plenty of boxes, as he is a homegrown player, and his contract is set to expire at the end of next season, meaning he could be available for a knock-down fee.
The £37k-per-week defender's performances last season have earmarked him as a strong possibility for Ange Postecoglou's defence, however, Spurs will have to fend off interest from elsewhere, with the likes of Inter Milan and AS Monaco also interested.
Is Tosin Adarabioyo leaving Fulham?
With some top clubs from across Europe interested in the centre-back, it would not be a surprise if he seeks pastures new this summer, and some of his displays in the 2022-23 campaign indicate he could be a solid signing for Tottenham.

Tottenham are set to continue talks over Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven week, with the former now considered Ange Postecoglou's "top target", although journalist Alasdair Gold stresses that he could end up costing as much as £50m.
With such an expensive deal in the works, Spurs may be keen to bolster their defensive ranks with a cheaper option, and it has recently been reported they are now trying to sign Clement Lenglet for free.
Barcelona are keen to get the £145k-per-week earner off the wage bill at Camp Nou, and the Lilywhites have realised that if they are patient in their pursuit of the defender, his current club may be forced to sell him for nothing.
As such, there has been a slight delay in getting a deal for the Frenchman over the line, despite an agreement in principle over personal terms having already been agreed.
There has now been a new update on Tottenham's interest in the Barcelona ace, with reports from Spain detailing that the move is "still pending", with the player himself "waiting" for a deal to be struck to finally confirm the move (via Sport Witness).

Is Clement Lenglet a good signing?
Tottenham's move for the France international has been dragging on for quite some time now, with seemingly very little progress being made, but it is clear that Postecoglou still remains keen on bringing him back to north London.
Despite being hailed as "outstanding" by members of the media during the early stages of the season, the former Sevilla man had a mixed first campaign in the Premier League, averaging just a 6.65 Sofascore match rating, the 20th-highest figure in the squad.
There are aspects of the centre-back's game that are impressive, ranking in the 94th percentile for progressive passes and 77th percentile for tackles per 90 over the past year, when compared to his positional peers.
As such, a move for Lenglet is definitely worth pursuing, however he should not be viewed as anything more than a back-up option for Postecoglou next season, given his uninspiring first season at Tottenham.
Cristian Romero will seemingly soon have a new partner at the back, amid the ongoing talks over deals for Van de Ven and Tapsoba, and the latter has averaged more interceptions, blocks, clearances and aerials won per 90 than Lenglet over the course of the past year.

The winger began his career in the West Ham youth system in 2010 and went on to make 21 appearances for the senior side. He then joined West Brom on loan in 2018 and recorded 15 goal involvements in the Championship.
The attacker was then sold on a permanent deal to the Midlands outfit to spark huge disappointment within the Hammers players and supporters. According to Mundo Deportivo [via Caught Offside], Villa are keen on the idea of signing Torres on loan ahead of the new season, with a view to signing him permanently in 2024, should he impress. There is a €25m (£21.5m) purchase option that would come into play at that point.
Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the Spaniard in the recent past, however, so there could be competition for his signature, should he and Barca both agree to a move away makes the most sense.
Torres could be another statement signing by Villa this summer if they could get a deal over the line, possessing genuine pedigree, having already won three league titles in his short career to date, not to mention scoring 15 goals in 35 caps for Spain.
The fact that Xavi has called him "world-class" in the past says a huge amount about what the youngster is capable of as a footballer, and while he clearly hasn't set the world alight at City and Barca, he could thrive by being one of the first names on the team sheet at Villa Park.

As reported by The Athletic yesterday, Wolves are in ‘advanced talks’ to bring the defender back to the Midlands.
After three years away from the Old Gold the 31-year-old looks ‘set to seal’ a move back to the club, with ‘positive discussions’ reported via The Athletic’s Steve Madeley.
How could Matt Doherty fit in at Wolves?
After 10 years at Wolves, Doherty opted to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 before leaving north London in a surprise move to Atletico Madrid in January 2023.
Things didn’t work as planned for the Irishman in the Spanish capital, as he departed this summer having made only two LaLiga appearances in a move that deprived him of playing time.
A return to Molineux could come at a perfect time for the 31-year-old and Lopetegui, as he looks to rebuild the foundations of the club after a decrease in squad names this summer.
Names such as Ruben Neves, Conor Coady, Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho departed Wolves this summer after each spending five or more years on the books at Molineux, leaving Lopetegui open to a rebuild.
The return of Doherty could reinstall some structure to the Spaniard’s plans to sculpt his side in preparation for his first full season in charge.
