Sana Mir refuses to attend training camp

The Pakistan women’s team have been rocked by the refusal of their highest-profile player – Sana Mir – to attend a training session and fitness camp along with the rest of the team.In an email to her fellow players, which was leaked on social media, Mir stated, “I won’t be coming to the camp or travel with the team unless some crucial issues regarding women’s cricket are addressed, which I have communicated to the top PCB management.”Mir confirmed the authenticity of the email to ESPNcricinfo, saying it was intended “for her fellow players”, and describing the leak as “unfortunate”. It is believed that the main subject of her unhappiness is the women’s wing general manager. While she didn’t take names, she mentioned the management in her email, saying it had “compromised players’ respect, merit, and physical and mental well-being. I am not willing to work in this setup unless things change for the betterment of women’s cricket.”There were signs of problems between Mir and the management in the wake of Pakistan’s winless campaign at the World Cup in July, when she was captain. In August, the women’s team coach Sabih Azhar called Mir “self-centred, egotistical and being wrapped up in oneself”, before Mir responded by saying she would not continue with the current set-up. The training camp was ahead of the team’s upcoming tour of New Zealand, for which the PCB announced New Zealander Mark Coles as the new coach of the side.

Delwar’s charge with the ball was abetted by Farhad Reza, who coupled his first-innings four-for with two in the second.Put in to bat, Chittagong scored 260 in the first innings on the back of a 128-run fifth-wicket stand between Saeed Sarkar (70) and Sazzadul Haque (95). Rajshahi replied with 403 courtesy Mizanur’s 102, which included 13 fours and two sixes. Having hammered 143 in his side’s previous game against Sylhet, Mizanur added 153 for the third wicket with nightwatchman Delwar, who scored his second first-class half-century (62). Later, the wicketkeeper-batsman Hamidul Islam (73*) added important runs in the lower order and strung an 88-run ninth-wicket stand with Saqlain Sajib.A five-for in each innings from Sylhet’s Enamul Haque Jnr handed Dhaka Metropolis a 190-run drubbing in Chittagong. West Ham: Transfer insider thinks star would "listen" to offers

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio would consider a money-spinning move to Saudi Arabia this summer amid uncertainty over his future at the London Stadium, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Is Michail Antonio leaving West Ham United?

According to journalist Pete O'Rourke writing in his biweekly column for Football Insider, it is believed that Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, who former England international Steven Gerrard manages, hold a 'concrete interest' in trying to entice the £85k-a-week ace to the Gulf region this summer.

The report states that Al Ettifaq have received 'encouragement' from West Ham over a potential deal being struck and the Hammers wouldn't stand in the way of the Jamaica international making a lucrative cross-continental move.

90min corroborate that West Ham would be open to parting ways with Antonio and have confirmed that they are 'anticipating' a bid for the 33-year-old from Al Ettifaq.

It is said that West Ham would sanction Antonio's departure if a 'suitable' offer was to arrive due to the veteran being in the final year of his contract at the London Stadium.

Over the course of his time in east London, Antonio has been a fan favourite and notched 75 goals and 43 assists in 276 games in West Ham colours, as per Transfermarkt.

Nevertheless, a new challenge could now await Antonio as he veers towards the twilight years of his career and talks are at an early stage, according to Sky Sports Premier League.

Speaking to Football FanCast, transfer insider Jones thinks that Antonio would be willing to consider the prospect of heading to Saudi Arabia to join Al Ettifaq.

Jones told FFC: "There has been nothing formal around this one at the moment, but that doesn't mean that conversations have not begun between intermediaries. It wouldn't actually surprise me if the player was willing to at least listen to what is on the table there because his future at West Ham, long-term, seems a little bit in doubt; he's still got a year of his contract to run. West Ham, I believe, have the option to give him one more year on top of that, so it's not like he's desperate to get out of there, but if he's offered huge money to go to Saudi Arabia, it wouldn't surprise me if he considered it."

What now for West Ham United?

If Antonio was to head for the sunnier climbs of the Middle East, West Ham boss David Moyes would likely enter the market to try and recruit another forward to take his place.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja has reportedly been earmarked as someone who could fill the void and may join the club on a permanent basis for a fee in the region of £30 million, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim.

In other positions, Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse is a target for the Hammers and they are ready to ramp up their interest in the England international by submitting an official bid for his services, as per Football Insider.

Tuttomercatoweb has detailed that Manchester City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis is closing in on a move to the London Stadium and should arrive in the capital across the next few days.

Liverpool: Big Romeo Lavia transfer update with "groundwork" done

Liverpool target Romeo Lavia will be 'joining' the club this summer from Southampton, in the opinion of Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, who is confident that a deal will get concluded that will see the Belgium international move to Anfield.

Is Romeo Lavia going to Liverpool?

According to BBC Sport, Liverpool have seen their latest bid of £46 million plus add-ons turned down for Lavia by Southampton as the Sky Bet Championship outfit continue to seek £50 million for the 19-year-old before agreeing to sanction his departure.

Lavia was an unused substitute for Southampton in their opening-day victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough last week and speculation continues to swirl regarding his future.

Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter X to voice his frustration over the lack of progress made regarding Lavia, stating: "This is embarrassing. Liverpool for years now have got deals done quickly with no fuss. If you don’t think he’s worth 50M move on, if you really want him pay it. Also not sure why LFC aren’t in for Caicedo, yes it’s a lot of money but Liverpool got big money for JH/FAB."

Last term, Lavia made 34 appearances in all competitions for Southampton and impressed despite their eventual relegation, registering one goal and one assist in the process, as per Transfermarkt.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also held discussions with Lavia regarding a potential transfer this window, though it remains to be seen whether they will rival Liverpool by firming up their interest in the starlet.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Daily Express journalist Taylor thinks that Liverpool will eventually get a deal for Lavia over the line at Anfield.

"It's hard to say in the transfer window because as we've seen so many times in the past, something can happen out of the blue within the space of an hour.

"My personal opinion is that if Lavia is to leave Southampton, he's going to be joining Liverpool. I think negotiations are already, I don't want to say advanced as in they are at an advanced stage, but there has been a lot of dialogue between the two clubs.

"Two bids have gone in, both of them have been rejected. There have been talks on the player side with his representatives as well, and Lavia would be happy to move to Liverpool.

"So when I say advanced, I mean a lot more groundwork has been done on the deal, and obviously we know Liverpool have lost Fabinho and Jordan Henderson."

Who else could come in at Liverpool?

According to Football Insider, Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is said to have a big admiration for the Reds and would prefer to move to Anfield over several other destinations around Europe amid his unique situation in the French capital.

Nevertheless, there is little chance of this becoming a likely scenario and Liverpool also wouldn't be able to bear the financial responsibility required to sign Mbappe permanently.

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, Bayern Munich playmaker Ryan Gravenberch and Fiorentina ace Sofyan Amrabat have been looked at as potential replacements for the now-departed Fabinho in midfield, as per Sky Sports.

Liverpool have also initiated contact with Fluminense midfielder Andre and it is thought that a fee of around £20 million could tempt the Brazil international to Anfield, the same outlet report.

Leeds: Positive update in Sinisterra saga

Leeds United have endured a hit-and-miss start to the new Championship season. Life has been rocky on and off of the field, so the latest update from journalist Ben Jacobs will be welcomed by the Elland Road faithful.

Will Sinisterra remain at Elland Road?

Leeds United were in action on Friday night as they hosted West Bromwich Albion in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The game ended 1-1, as a fortuitous strike from Jayson Molumby found its way beyond the reaches of Illan Meslier thanks to the hand of Brandon Thomas-Asante to controversially open the scoring.

Captain Luke Ayling stepped up for Leeds with a dominant header to equalise and the goalkeepers at both ends made some crucial stops, seeing it all end honours even.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds only had seven substitutes against the Baggies, something which certainly raised a few eyebrows. This is due in part to injuries but also because of the number of players that have either departed Elland Road or are soon to be on their way out.

One man whose future is up in the air is winger Luis Sinisterra, who was nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad.

Sinisterra arrived from Dutch giants Feyenoord last summer and was unable to make the all-important difference in Leeds’ relegation-threatened season.

That being said, the Colombia international did score five goals in less than 900 minutes of action, so he could surely be an asset in the Championship if he stays put.

His future has been back and forth in the rumour mill, with the latest reports suggesting his release clause is becoming a legal matter for Leeds as they aim to resolve the uncertainty over his position.

Meanwhile, Daniel Farke was said to have banished the forward along with teammates Wilfried Gnonto and Helder Costa, with the trio all the subject of much speculation, as per TEAMTalk.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Luis Sinisterra?

Leeds forward Luis Sinisterra.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has given an update on what the future holds for Leeds and Sinisterra.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “I think there is slightly more encouraging news for Sinisterra from Leeds’ perspective.

“There'll be interest and offers, and people can still match the amount of those clauses and use them as valuation yardsticks. But Leeds hope some of their star names stay, at least, until the January window.”

What is the latest Leeds transfer news?

As previously mentioned, Costa and Gnonto are also in the shop window at Elland Road.

Gnonto is certainly at the fore of all of the chatter, with Everton said to be the most likely destination for the young Italian.

The Leeds faithful made their distaste for his actions known against West Brom, so his departure seems to be the best option for all relevant parties.

Another Premier League-bound player leaving Leeds United is Tyler Adams. The third of the American trio alongside Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson – who have already moved on – Adams is headed to the south coast to play for AFC Bournemouth after a move to Chelsea fell through.

In regards to incomings, a striker is on Farke’s shopping list, although deals for Michail Antonio and Tom Cannon are faced with their fair share of stumbling blocks.

Priest moves from Renegades to Thunder in WBBL

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Rachel Priest will turn out for the Sydney Thunder in the third season of the Women’s Big Bash League, after two seasons with the Melbourne Renegades.”I’ve really enjoyed my time in the WBBL so far,” Priest told .”I enjoyed my time at the Melbourne Renegades but I felt it was time for a change and to move to such a professional and competitive team really excites me. I’ve played a lot against Alex Blackwell, Rachael Haynes and Rene Farrell. It’s a very exciting squad that also has a lot of young talented players.”Known for an explosive batting style, Priest scored 512 runs for the Renegades while captaining the side, and also effected 22 dismissals. She was the leading run-scorer in the 2017 edition of the Kia Super League in England with 261 runs in seven innings for Western Storm, including a century and two fifties. Her 36-ball 72 against Southern Vipers in the final helped Western Storm clinch the title by seven wickets. Her run in the Super League marked a return to form after a disappointing World Cup in June-July, where she scored 125 runs in six matches. She missed New Zealand’s tour of UAE for the series against Pakistan, with the team management asking her to work on improving her physical conditioning.Thunder, who won the inaugural edition of the WBBL, had failed to make it to the semi-finals last season. They will get their 2017-18 campaign underway against the Renegades on December 9 at North Sydney Oval.

West Ham Are Frontrunners To Sign "Versatile" £20m Gem

West Ham United are finally beginning to make some headway in the transfer market.

The Irons have made a combined £60m bid for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, whilst they have also agreed a £32m deal to sign Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.

One of the other names at the top of the Hammers’ agenda is Ian Maatsen.

What’s the latest on Ian Maatsen to West Ham?

According to Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella, the Irons are 'considered frontrunners' to sign the Chelsea youngster, should he leave Stamford Bridge.

It's thought that the young full-back is keen to stay at the west London outfit but wants assurances over his development plan and long-term prospects at the club before agreeing to a new deal.

Read the latest West Ham transfer news HERE…

The Netherlands U21 international has just one year left on his current contract, leaving a host of clubs keeping a watchful eye over developments, including West Ham.

Eredivisie giants Ajax and Ligue 1 side RC Lens are also thought to be in the race to land Maatsen, whilst another loan stint away from the Blues hasn't been ruled out yet.

He is currently valued at around £20m.

Would Ian Maatsen be a good signing for West Ham?

In Mauricio Pochettino’s short reign at the Chelsea helm, the 21-year-old gem has been described as “exceptional” by Kinsella due to his performances in pre-season. Across five games, he notched two games and an assist, whilst being forced to play out of position due to the more senior figures of Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.

If he opts to stay at Stamford Bridge, the Argentine coach is set to play him as a winger or an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 system.

This creates an interesting conundrum for Maatsen, as West Ham’s interest would likely see him deployed in his more conventional left-back role. Moreover, long-serving servant Aaron Cresswell has been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, which would seemingly create space for the youngster at the London Stadium.

Whilst on loan at Burnley last term, Clarets boss Vincent Kompany described Maatsen as a “very versatile full-back with lots of energy and great potential."

This versatility has stemmed from his adaptability to differing positional demands.

At Turf Moor, he recorded the joint-second most assists (6) and the third-most interceptions per game (1.4). This blend of defensive solidity and attacking verve means he is capable of across the left-hand side, a trait noted by Pochettino and Kompany.

Therefore, Hammers boss David Moyes would likely view Maatsen as competition for Emerson, who endured an inconsistent debut season in east London.

Emerson West Ham

Over the past 365 days, the Dutch outranks the Italian for a number of metrics including shot-creating actions per 90 (2.38 vs 1.98), progressive passes per 90 (6.21 vs 3.07), progressive carries per 90 (3.36 vs 2.59), tackles per 90 (2.18 vs 1.77), and interceptions per 90 (1.51 vs 1.02), via FBref.

Perhaps Emerson is a victim of Moyes’ rigidly unattractive style of play, but ultimately the 29-year-old dud only managed 16 Premier League starts without any injuries, so he looks easily replaceable.

After Maatsen’s glittering showings in the Championship and in the early stages for Chelsea this summer, it could well be a commendable coup for the 2023 Europa Conference League winners and one that spells trouble for the West Ham full-back.

Test opener Matt Renshaw spent some valuable time in the middle and Joe Burns provided a reminder of his ability as Queensland wrapped up a seven-wicket Sheffield Shield victory over Tasmania inside three days at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.Set 156 to win, the Bulls were well-served by their opening batsmen, who were not parted until the 36th over of the innings when the visitors were more than halfway to their target. Renshaw, who will be expected to soak up plenty of deliveries against England’s new-ball bowlers to smooth a path for stroke-makers at the other end, lasted 109 deliveries for his 19.Burns played the most recent of his Test matches on the same ground a year ago, and was the more expansive of the pair in striking eight boundaries and a six to ensure the captain Usman Khawaja and Sam Truloff were able to complete the win without much trouble after the loss of Marnus Labuschagne.
